I'm Carolyn Knight. Having been a creative soul throughout my life when lockdown arrived in early 2020 I had time on my hands to learn a new skill. Looking for a step away from textiles I ventured in to the mysterious world of clay, glaze, kilns and ceramics and haven't looked back. I make in my home studio and have a kiln on site for firing and a quicker turn round. It also enables me to experiment further with different clays and glazes.
Starting out with conventional pieces like plates and pots I realised that sculpture was where I really wanted to go. Initial results were less than promising but I have persevered and now produce a range of Animal Sculptures. I have a range of stock pieces which changes constantly, there are images of the available pieces in the Animals Gallery. Prices range from £40 plus delivery. Working from my home studio on the edge of the New Forest I draw inspiration from the natural world, the internet and real live animals! I have worked with a number of mentors (who know who they are) to whom I am indebted for their guidance.
